About me
After thirty years designing, building, and shipping SaaS products, I've concluded the cloud delivery model is fundamentally broken for many applications that rely on it. The structural limits are real: connectivity dependency, resilience challenges, latency friction, energy wastage, and the security exposure that comes with storing and processing private data far from where it's produced and consumed. These observations eventually led me to edge computing.
Edge computing performs the work where it's needed — on-device, in the field, at the point of application — delivering autonomy, reliability, speed, efficiency, and security that cloud architectures cannot match.
Having worked across the R&D function in multiple organizations, I'm well placed to deliver what edge projects demand, and this is where my focus is. I'm also happy to apply my SaaS experience where it's the right fit.
How I engage
I take on long-term interim roles — typically as CPO, CTO, or CPTO — working alongside founding or executive teams from early product definition through to launch, often over several years. I work with companies at all stages, though I'm most drawn to early-stage teams with technically ambitious products. My compensation model is flexible.

My extensive background in sales, product, engineering, and operations means I can work effectively across every function. I combine strategy with execution, sometimes writing code and prototyping hardware myself when the project calls for it.
Where I work
My core markets are the UK, where I'm based, and Canada, where I'm from. I also work with companies in the EEA. I work remotely, travelling when required.
